Institutional Calibration Program
This is where we tailor URIEL to your organization.
Every organization we have ever spoken to has said some version of the same thing: our situation is not quite like anyone else’s. That is usually true, and it is the reason this page exists. Institutional Calibration is a custom build of URIEL for one organization — configured department by department, and level by level, so it works in your language rather than ours.
Why one configuration is never enough
A large organization is not one audience. It is many.
We understand that in large or highly specialized organizations, teams have very different interests, vocabularies and pressures — and that a decision which looks routine in one department is the hardest call of the week in another. URIEL accommodates supporting decision-making inside each of those silos, rather than flattening them into a single average user who does not exist.
What makes that possible is a layer built on top of URIEL’s existing recursive judgment platform. We do not rebuild the platform for you; we calibrate what sits above it. That layer is co-created with our stack development team, our clinical team and our design team, working alongside your own people.
- The language your people actually use. The terminology of the specialty, so nothing has to be translated in the moment it matters.
- The blind spots that specialty is prone to. The things experienced practitioners know to watch for, made visible at the point the decision is live.
- The pitfalls and recurring themes. The patterns that show up again and again in that department, so they are recognized rather than rediscovered.
- Your mission and your vision. The organization’s stated values, carried into the way decisions are examined — so what is deployed upholds what you say you stand for.
What is crafted is a URIEL that functions inside your organization, on your terms. We keep the method behind that layer to ourselves; what we will happily do is show you, in a scoped conversation, exactly what it would look like for one of your departments.
Two worked examples
What calibration looks like in practice.
These are illustrations of how the program is scoped, not descriptions of existing deployments.
A large healthcare system
You decide to make URIEL available to senior leadership and to front-line staff. Those are not the same need, and neither are the specialties underneath them. So the same platform is calibrated more than once.
Oncology
Calibrated to the vocabulary of oncology, the blind spots that appear under treatment-decision load, and the themes that recur in that service line.
Pediatrics
A different specialism with different pressures, different family dynamics, and a different set of things that go unexamined.
Geriatric care
Calibrated again — for the decisions that involve capacity, family, and the long arc of someone’s life rather than a single episode.
The same approach extends to every other department you choose to bring in. Each one is calibrated on its own terms; all of them sit inside the same mission.
A law enforcement agency
Here the meaningful differences are vertical as well as horizontal. What an officer on patrol is deciding, and what a chief is deciding, have almost nothing in common except the consequence attached to getting them wrong.
Officer on patrol
Decisions made in minutes, alone, and often while tired.
Shift command
Allocation, escalation, and the judgment calls that shape what the shift does next.
Senior leadership
Policy, accountability, and decisions that will be examined publicly.
Specialist units
Homicide, aggravated assault and other units whose work has its own recurring pitfalls.
Calibrated by command level, and again by specialist unit.
How the program runs
A custom build, a paid pilot, and then it keeps going.
A custom build
Scoped to the departments you choose, and co-created with your people rather than handed to them. This is engineering and design work, not a license you switch on.
A paid pilot
The program begins as a paid pilot, with the scope, the departments and what success looks like agreed in writing before anyone starts.
90 to 180 days of refinement
Then we keep going. Specialties change, teams change, and what mattered in month one is rarely what matters in month five — so URIEL is refined against what your people are actually deciding.
Two boundaries, stated plainly. URIEL does not diagnose, does not prescribe, does not command, and does not replace professional judgment — anything requiring licensed or command authority escalates to that authority, never to the system. And the examples above describe how we would scope a program, not work already delivered. What URIEL is → · Why it is not a chatbot →
